Chinatown Outdoor Movie Night (唐人街露天電影夜)

E-mail 列印 PDF

Come check out the Chinatown Outdoor Movie Nights held at the Sien Lok Park in Chinatown. The Movie Nights are a part of the Chinatown Centennary event and we would like to celebrate the Centenary by showing movies that honour Chinese cultural values and history.  We also hope that the movies shown here can teach people of other ethnic backgrounds about Chinese culture and history.

There will be live performances prior to every movie event.  This will include performances of the Chinese instrument, Pipa, Latin dancing, and street performances.

Please come out and show your support for the Chinatown Centenary, Canadian Chinese and community engagement with other communities.

For more information, please feel free to contact Tammy @ (403) 265-8446

Chinatown Cleanup Volunteers

The cleanup on Saturday turned out to be a success and we thank those Chinatown residents who came to our recycling station to

drop off recyclable items.  The total amount of recyclable items that were dropped off at our station are listed below and measured

in terms of volume:

1500L Newspapers, Mixed Paper Cardboard
300L Plastics Containers Bags
100L Metal Cans, Aluminum Foil
100L Glass Bottles  Jars
300L Refundable Beverage Containers

Furthermore, our street cleanup crew picked up a combined total of 1200L of garbage around Chinatown streets.

We, here at CCCSA, would like to take some time to thank our sponsors; Sing Tao News, Waste Management, Ken BBQ House,

3:3 Teatime Bubble, Diamond Bakery, Pearl House, Regency Palace Seafood Restaurant, Fairchild Radio, Rainbow Bakery,

Calgary Block Watch and Crime Stoppers for their support of the "I Love Chinatown" Spring Cleanup day.

Finally, thank you to all the volunteers who came out and gave us a helping hand.  Without these wonderful, passionate volunteers,

the cleanup would not have been made possible.

CCCSA is actively involved in the Chinese community providing assistance, information, and educational opportunities to all of its members and clients. Our goal is to facilitate community participation, planning and action, unite community and government efforts to address local issues, and provide support to members in overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers so that they can access the services they needed.

CCCSA strives to keep the community informed and involved by publishing a bilingual community newsletter and providing information on a Cantonese radio program on Fairchild CHKF 94.7 FM. We also organize training and information sessions on topics relevant to the needs of the community and hold public meetings where the community can voice concerns to address current issues or act as a community liaison. CCCSA endeavors to build strong partnerships with other organizations striving to promote active participation of community members.
