Cancer Support Group

 The Chinese Community Services Association (CCCSA) offer support groups for cancer patients in collaboration with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). The objective of the support group is to provide culturally-sensitive emotional support for Chinese-speaking patients. The sessions will be delivered in Cantonese and Mandarin. 

In accordance with CCS’ guidelines, we will be following an eight-week format for this program. There will be one session per week, with each session taking up to 2 hours. The group size will range from 5 to 12 participants and the sessions will be led by health professionals. The program is free and is projected to begin in September 2010. Women’s Health Screening Day

We arrange for breast cancer screening in collaboration with health clinics. Breast Cancer Workshop

Cancer is a terrible disease that can affect anyone at any age. The best way to protect yourself against cancer is to arm yourself with the appropriate knowledge. To promote knowledge of breast health and breast cancer, CCCSA is hosting free workshops. Information covered will include: causes of breast cancer, how to prevent cancer, treatments, how to deal with emotional issues that comes with being diagnosed with cancer, and etc. Workshops are projected to start in September 2010. 華埠安全委員在兩年前成立, 由於當時市中心的罪案率較為高, 成立在華埠安全委員的目的是預防罪案˳ 在委員成立後, 得到警方﹑市民﹑社團及商戶的鼎力支持, 治安已有所改善˳ 在過去, 我們做了安全審核, 了解在環境上令市民覺得不安全的地方, 之後提出了改善方案˳ 我們亦清潔了華埠及清除塗鴉˳ 經過一番努力, 很榮幸地, 華埠安全委員會在今年得到了亞省檢察總長社區安全大獎, 令我們惑到十分鼓舞˳ 現時華埠安全委員希望透過不同的活動以改善華埠的形象,吸引更多人到華埠參觀, 一方面可帶出華埠吸引之處, 亦同時可進一步預防不良活動在華埠進行˳

在此謹多謝Community Life Improvement Council 提名華埠安全委員, 並多謝各支持的團體, 包括:華商會﹑卡城華人耆英會﹑善樂社﹑卡城中華文化中心...等, 另外, 特別要多謝卡城警局服務﹑動物及附例部的合作和對華埠的支持˳

暑期夏令營從7月5日至8月13日共6周

卡加利堡堡壘，軍事博物館，科學館，高卡車，騎馬活動，粟米迷宫，水上樂園等。歡迎6歲到12歲的小朋友參加。

地點：Wild Rose United Church (1317-1st Street NW)

我中心將於7月5日至9日舉辦為期一周的壁畫活動，歡迎年齡為8-16歲的小朋友參加,有關費用請與本中心聯絡。

時間：8:30am-3:30pm（3:45-5:00pm提供照看服務)。

Help Your Children Become More Outstanding in Studies and Lives

 

Our association provides year round homework club to immigration children of Grade 3 to Grade 8. The program will start at the beginning of January. If you would like your children to attend this program, please call Michael Ha B.A.,B.ED at (403) 265-8446 for more information. Program time: Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 4:00 to 4:30.
